LEHIGH TWP., Pa. \u2013 A popular Lehigh Valley business is brewing an expansion with a new, nature-filled venue \u2013 complete with a rustic taproom, creekside beer garden and miniature golf course.<\/p>\n
The owners of Taylor House Brewing Co., a craft brewery at 76 Lehigh St. in Catasauqua, in late 2024 purchased a commercial property at 4315 W. Mountain Drive in Lehigh Township and have been working over the past year to open a second location at the site.<\/p>\n

The 8-acre property was previously home to Fore Scoops, an ice cream shop and miniature golf facility, which closed in 2024<\/a> after four years of operation.<\/p>\n A multitude of other businesses, including Edgemont Acres Drive-In and Miniature Golf Course and Casey\u2019s Cafe & Mini Golf, also previously operated at the site.<\/p>\n Fred and Annette Pompa, Taylor House\u2019s husband-and-wife operators, saw an opportunity to expand operations in another part of the Lehigh Valley with a second Taylor House taproom that also would include accompanying outdoor attractions.<\/p>\n Work is ongoing, but the tentative plan is to construct a new outdoor beer garden on a section of the property overlooking Bertsch Creek and upgrade the existing 18-hole miniature golf course and roughly 1,200-square-foot building, Fred said.<\/p>\n Taylor House Brewing Co. is planning to open a second location, tentatively set to be named “Hidden Creek Beer Garden & Taproom,” at 4315 W. The owners are planning to implement upgrades to an existing miniature golf course.\u00a0<\/p>\n Ryan Kneller<\/p>\n \u201cWe don\u2019t have an opening date nailed down just yet as there\u2019s still a lot of work to do, and I\u2019m handling a lot of the improvements myself,\u201d Fred said.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s a small chance that we could open just the taproom this fall, but most likely, we\u2019d open everything next spring. Once the temperatures get colder, it\u2019s harder to do work, and we want to have the miniature golf course refurbished and also have the beer garden constructed on the hump in the back overlooking the creek.\u201d<\/p>\n Upgrades to the building\u2019s fa\u00e7ade have already been completed, and Fred is currently outfitting the taproom’s interior.<\/p>\n Rustic wood accents are prevalent throughout the space, and Fred has also constructed new custom furniture.<\/p>\n Taylor House Brewing Co. is planning to open a second location, tentatively set to be named “Hidden Creek Beer Garden & Taproom,” at 4315 W. Mountain View Drive in Lehigh Township.<\/p>\n Ryan Kneller<\/p>\n Seating for around 25 guests will be available at new booths and a high-top communal table in the middle of the taproom.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen we purchased it, the building looked like a basic ice cream parlor inside, and that\u2019s fine, but that\u2019s not what we wanted for our new taproom,\u201d Fred said.<\/p>\n \u201cWe wanted it to be a cozy spot where you can relax with a great beer with your friends. So, we added a bunch of wood accents and other rustic touches.\u201d<\/p>\n In a nod to Bertsch Creek, which runs behind the building and mini-golf course, Taylor House\u2019s new location is tentatively set to be named \u201cHidden Creek Beer Garden & Taproom,\u201d Fred said.<\/p>\n The beer garden, featuring more than a dozen picnic tables, will be a focal point of the new venue.<\/p>\n Taylor House Brewing Co. is planning to open a second location, tentatively set to be named “Hidden Creek Beer Garden & Taproom,” at 4315 W. Mountain View Drive in Lehigh Township.<\/p>\n Ryan Kneller<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a beautiful property, with a lot of shade from the trees, and we really want to highlight as much of it as possible,\u201d Fred said.<\/p>\n The new taproom will feature a rotating selection of around eight Taylor House beers on draft, along with other beverages such as wine, cider and cocktails, Fred said.<\/p>\n A limited food menu is still being finalized, but guests can expect hard and soft-serve ice cream and savory items such as burgers, hot dogs and sandwiches, Fred said.<\/p>\n Additionally, like Taylor House\u2019s original location in Catasauqua, the Lehigh Township location will regularly welcome food trucks, Fred said.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re still ironing out how it all will work, but we may offer our own food on the slower days and have the food trucks on the busier days,\u201d Fred said.<\/p>\n \u201cOur food menu wouldn\u2019t be extensive because we\u2019re very limited on space.
