{"id":257036,"date":"2026-08-01T08:47:12","date_gmt":"2026-08-01T08:47:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/257036\/"},"modified":"2026-08-01T08:47:12","modified_gmt":"2026-08-01T08:47:12","slug":"grow-pittsburgh-holds-program-to-help-teens-learn-about-value-of-growing-eating-healthy-food-wpxi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/257036\/","title":{"rendered":"Grow Pittsburgh holds program to help teens learn about value of growing, eating healthy food \u2013 WPXI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">PITTSBURGH \u2014 High school students are learning all about agriculture this summer at PNC Park.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">For two months, Grow Pittsburgh and Edgar Snyder brought in high school students from Braddock, Wilkinsburg and Homewood to learn how to grow their own food.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Students help maintain the gardens at PNC Park and learn about different job opportunities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">At the end of the day, students have a home-cooked meal with their fresh produce at the Pirates clubhouse.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">\u201cThey get to work on active running farms and greenhouses.
