Lehigh County authorities are investigating the death of an 8-week-old infant, the Lehigh County coroner announced Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The coroner says the child lived in Coplay. She was pronounced dead at 2:35 p.m. Tuesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital\u2013Muhlenberg<\/a> in Bethlehem, according to a news release from the coroner\u2019s office.<\/p>\n An autopsy and radiological examination are complete, but the cause and manner of death are pending further investigation, the release says.<\/p>\n The coroner, Coplay Police Department<\/a> and Lehigh County District Attorney\u2019s Office are investigating.<\/p>\n Coplay Police Chief Ryan Emerich says his department is investigating the case with Lehigh County detectives and needs to confer with county authorities before making a statement.<\/p>\n The district attorney did not immediately respond to an email seeking a status update on the investigation.<\/p>\n \u201cCoroner (Daniel) Buglio and the entire staff of the Lehigh County Coroner\u2019s Office & Forensic Center extend their deepest condolences to the family during this difficult time,\u201d the news release says.<\/p>\n If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
