\n\tThe University of Pittsburgh was selected for the inaugural cohort of a Campus Compact<\/a> program designed to help colleges and universities across the nation strengthen their civic and community engagement.<\/p>\n

\n\tPitt is among 22 institutions chosen<\/a> for the organization\u2019s new Campus Action Planning for Civic and Community Engagement Innovation Cohort, which will give schools a roadmap for integrating community engagement work more fully into how the institution operates.<\/p>\n

\n\tEach participating school assembles a team of up to 10 campus and community members for a guided, seven-month stretch of planning and early implementation. Pitt\u2019s team is led by Jamilah Ducar<\/a>, associate vice chancellor for engagement and community affairs.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe team also includes:\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tSamantha Balbier<\/a>, director of the Institute of Politics and Elsie Hillman Civic Forum\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tCatherine Cordova<\/a>, director of academic planning and retention in the David C. Frederick Honors College<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tJustin Dandoy<\/a>, director of PittServes<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tSera Mathew<\/a>, director of inclusive and equitable teaching in the University Center for Teaching and Learning<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tTasha Peacock<\/a>, assistant director of student programs and community outreach for the Institute of Politics<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tJoylette Portlock<\/a>, director of the University Center for Social and Urban Research\u2019s Community Impact Network<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tJamelle Price<\/a>, associate director of learning and development in the Office of Engagement and Community Affairs<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tTrupti Sarode<\/a>, director of strategic initiatives in the School of Public and International Affairs<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tBelkys Torres<\/a>, associate vice provost for curricular innovation in the Office of the Provost<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tShannon Wanless<\/a>, director of the University Center for Social and Urban Research and associate professor in the School of Education.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe work will build on Pitt\u2019s 2026 Carnegie Elective Classification for Community Engagement, a national designation the University first earned in 2020 and renewed this year<\/a> through 2032.<\/p>\n
