BETHLEHEM\u00a0\u2014 Police have identified the person killed over the weekend in the three-vehicle crash on Interstate 87 as Claudia Hargis-Grover, a 63-year-old woman from Glens Falls.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Hargis-Grover was driving with a passenger around 4:44\u00a0p.m. Saturday near Exit 23 when the crash occurred. Troopers said the driver of a Chevrolet sedan was driving \u201cat a high rate of speed\u201d in the left lane of the highway when he tried to move into the right lane, sideswiping a pickup truck. The driver moved back into the left lane, where the sedan rear-ended Hargis-Grover\u2019s car.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Her car came to a stop on the left shoulder after striking a guardrail.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Hargis-Grover was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger was taken to Albany Medical Center hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The driver and a passenger in the pickup truck were taken to Samaritan Hospital\u00a0\u2014 Albany Memorial Campus, also with non-life-threatening injuries.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The driver of the Chevrolet sedan, a 37-year-old man from Virginia, has been charged with multiple vehicle and traffic law violations. Troopers said he showed no signs of impairment after completing a field sobriety test.
