Kevin Durant<\/a> is sharing his unfiltered reaction to LeBron James<\/a>\u2019 shocking decision to join the Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> for what will likely be his final NBA season.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t know at all,\u201d Durant, 37, exclusively told Us while attending the USA Basketball Foundation x RX3 Charity\u2019s 3\u00d73 tournament on Saturday, August 1. \u201cLeBron is stealth like that. I know there\u2019s a lot of noise around him, but you never know what\u2019s on his mind. I\u2019m happy for him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Durant added, \u201cIt\u2019s a great decision for him to go to a team that has a good chance to win. Philly is a great fanbase, a great market and it\u2019s great for the league. There were so many eyes that were tuned in to his decision. It\u2019s only gonna help us as a league.\u201d<\/p>\n

On July 24, LeBron, 41, stunned the sports world when he signed a two-year, $8 million contract with the Philadelphia 76ers \u2014 a massive pay cut for the NBA star \u2014 after spending eight seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tPresident Donald Trump has weighed in on the NBA GOAT debate, and he prefers Michael Jordan over LeBron James, who he speculates might be racist. Trump, 80, was asked about the long-held basketball argument on Friday, July 24, shortly after James, 41, announced that he would sign with the Philadelphia 76ers. \u201cMichael Jordan\u2019s a guy [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought I was done when the season ended,\u201d James, 41, shared via X at the time. \u201cI wasn\u2019t ready to announce it, and I knew I needed some time to really device, but I was pretty sure I played my last game. I was honest at that last press conference when I said I needed to look at myself and decide if I still love this game. I still truly love this game, and I have more to give.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued at the time, \u201cThe last few weeks have really been special. I\u2019ve never been able to have no clue what to do and take real time to just think. I\u2019ve had an incredible few months with all the people I love trying to figure it all out. This is my last decision. I\u2019m not going for money. I\u2019m not going for family. What am I really playing for at this point? I still want to sacrifice. I still want to work. I still want to give. I still want to compete, to win and to have a chance at the feeling of winning another championship.\u201d<\/p>\n

James\u2019 decision came as a shock to many \u2014 including President Donald Trump<\/a>, who attacked the athlete personally in the wake of his announcement.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Lebron, maybe he\u2019s a racist,\u201d Trump, 80, said on the day James revealed his decision. \u201cBut maybe he doesn\u2019t like Trump. I don\u2019t know. I only like people that like me, so I would say Michael Jordan all the way.\u201d<\/p>\n

When speaking to Us on Saturday, Durant \u2014 who plays forward for the Houston Rockets \u2014 explained why, like James, he believes the 76ers can be a championship contender.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe last time they put three 20-point scorers on a team they said it was unfair, which was the [Warriors] team I was on,\u201d he explained. [The 76ers] have got four 25-point scorers on this team. So, hell yeah, I think they\u2019re going to be a contender. They\u2019re going to be a fun team to watch. It\u2019s going to be League Pass-worthy. It\u2019s gonna be fun to watch. I can\u2019t wait to see it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Durant added, \u201cIt\u2019s a lot of great things in the league, man. It\u2019s great talent all across the league. I think the league\u2019s in a great place right now.
