SPRING TWP., Pa. – An 18-year-old man is dead after a vehicle was found submerged in a quarry in Berks County early Sunday morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Berks County dispatchers were called at 6:44 a.m. for reports of a water emergency in the 1000 block of Yerger Boulevard in Spring Township at the former E.J. Breneman Quarry.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Investigators say that a vehicle was submerged in the quarry.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Berks County Deputy Coroner responded to the scene at 9:21 a.m., and the 18-year-old was pronounced dead at 11:38 a.m., according to officials.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday at Reading Hospital.<\/p>\n
Officials have identified the man but are withholding his name until his family is informed.<\/p>\n
The Berks County Coroner’s Office and the Spring Township Police Department<\/p>\n
