Allegiant’s pilots have said yes to a two-year contract deal with the budget airline.<\/p>\n
Voting on the tentative agreement wrapped up on Friday, July 31; according to results posted by\u00a0Teamsters Local 2118, nearly 80% of the pilots who participated in the vote opted to ratify the deal.<\/p>\n
In total, 1,220 out of 1,233 members voted, for a turnout of 98.95%, the union said.<\/p>\n
970 pilots voted yes, and 250 voted no.<\/p>\n
Details of the agreement have not yet been made public. But, according to an agreement summary posted on Local 2118’s website, the 24-month deal includes $300 million in accrued retention bonuses, as well as enhanced retirement benefits, expanded leave protections and scheduling improvements.<\/p>\n
The agreement also provides tiered wage increases based on seniority.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Allegiant’s pilots had been working under the terms of a 2016 contract, which expired in 2021.<\/p>\n
In 2024, pilots voted by 97% to authorize a strike. Last November, they held informational pickets at all 22 crew bases in the U.S., including at Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE).<\/p>\n
Allegiant, which is based in Las Vegas, Nevada, has had a crew base at ABE since 2020. It’s been flying out of the airport for 20 years and now offers\u00a0nonstop flights to 11 destinations from ABE, including eight in Florida.<\/p>\n
Earlier this week, the carrier announced plans to establish a new “upgraded seating experience” it’s calling Allegiant First. The new class will have seats with a five-inch recline, calf rests, and adjustable headrests in addition to more legroom and a 37-inch pitch.<\/p>\n
There will also be “enhanced amenities and upgraded service elements,” Allegiant said.<\/p>\n
