A Philadelphia man has been arrested by Darby police after allegedly threatening to shoot a man who was beeping his horn to move, then firing a shot.<\/p>\n
Johnnie Byrd, 33, of the 2500 block of South Shields Street was charged with carrying a firearm while prohibited, carrying without a license, crime committed with a firearm, possession of a weapon, making terroristic threats and simple assault.<\/p>\n
Police gave this account:<\/p>\n
About 3:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to the unit block of South Sixth Street for a subject with a gun. Radio dispatchers said a Black male with dreadlocks and tattoos shot out of the window of a white Tesla and drove off towards Main Street.<\/p>\n
At that time, a white Tesla with Maryland plates was identified from license plate cameras as passing Fifth and Main streets heading into Philadelphia. Officers requested that county dispatchers notify the 12th city police district.<\/p>\n
At the scene of the incident, the victim told officers he was traveling east on Main Street when a white Tesla was blocking his turn onto South Sixth Street.<\/p>\n
The victim had his signal on and beeped for the vehicle in front of him to move up.<\/p>\n
The victim said a skinny Black male with braids and tattoos pulled out what the victim thought was a black Taurus TX22<\/a>, cocked it back and said, \u201cI\u2019ll shoot you in your head.\u201d<\/p>\n After the interaction the victim said he sped down the street and parked. Prior to going inside a building heard he heard a loud bang like a gunshot though he did not witness the male shooting.<\/p>\n The victim said the driver of the Tesla was a heavyset Black female.<\/p>\n About 6:05 p.m. Philadelphia police advised Darby police they had a white Tesla stopped at a mini-market on Island Avenue.<\/p>\n
