{"id":258224,"date":"2026-08-03T11:36:12","date_gmt":"2026-08-03T11:36:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/258224\/"},"modified":"2026-08-03T11:36:12","modified_gmt":"2026-08-03T11:36:12","slug":"woman-dies-after-being-shot-in-the-face-in-pittsburghs-strip-district","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/258224\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman dies after being shot in the face in Pittsburgh&#8217;s Strip District"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A woman has died after police said she was shot in the face in Pittsburgh&#8217;s Strip District.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=1462347829262588&amp;set=a.223177313179652\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Pittsburgh Public Safety said<\/a> that officers from Zone 2 were called to the area of 27th Street and Liberty Avenue in the Strip District just before 11 p.m. on Sunday for a reported shooting.<\/p>\n<p>When officers arrived at the scene, they found a woman unresponsive on the sidewalk and said that she was shot in the face, according to Public Safety.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Public Safety said that officers performed CPR until medics arrived, who took the woman to the hospital in critical condition.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The woman then died at the hospital, Public Safety said. The woman&#8217;s identity has not been released.<\/p>\n<p>Public Safety said that three people were detained from the scene of the deadly shooting and were taken to police headquarters for questioning.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s unclear if any or all of the individuals are expected to face charges related to the shooting.<\/p>\n<p>Public Safety said the investigation into the shooting is &#8220;ongoing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\n          More from CBS News\n        <\/p>\n<p class=\"content__tags__label\">In:<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A woman has died after police said she was shot in the face in Pittsburgh&#8217;s Strip District.
