(WPVI) &#8212; Reading police nabbed a murder suspect moments before federal authorities say he was about to flee the country.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Federico Perez Polanco, 43, was taken into custody at an airport in New Jersey before boarding a flight to the Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Police say he shot and killed a man in the 1400 block of North 5th Street in Reading early Sunday morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Authorities say Polanco then fled to New Jersey and booked the flight, which was scheduled to leave Sunday night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC eTIW sUzSN \">He is currently awaiting extradition back to Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2026 WPVI-TV.
