{"id":259518,"date":"2026-08-05T09:00:24","date_gmt":"2026-08-05T09:00:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/259518\/"},"modified":"2026-08-05T09:00:24","modified_gmt":"2026-08-05T09:00:24","slug":"western-pennsylvania-walmart-employee-accused-of-stealing-7800-in-goods-over-time-wpxi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/259518\/","title":{"rendered":"Western Pennsylvania Walmart employee accused of stealing $7,800 in goods over time \u2013 WPXI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">GROVE CITY, Pa.  \u2014 A Walmart employee in Western Pennsylvania is accused of stealing more than $7,800 in goods from the store. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Pennsylvania State Police say that last week, investigators were requested for a shoplifting report at the Grove City Walmart. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">There, Derrie Bird Carpenter, 57, confessed to stealing more than $100 a week in food, makeup, hair products, electronics and books from the store.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">These thefts had reportedly been going on since January 2025, and it was determined she had stolen in excess of $7,800 from Walmart. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Carpenter is said to have given a voluntary written confession to Walmart, then a verbal confession to investigators.
