{"id":259878,"date":"2026-08-05T20:34:08","date_gmt":"2026-08-05T20:34:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/259878\/"},"modified":"2026-08-05T20:34:08","modified_gmt":"2026-08-05T20:34:08","slug":"labor-agreement-averts-strike-at-large-lehigh-valley-company","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/259878\/","title":{"rendered":"Labor agreement averts strike at large Lehigh Valley company"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Unionized workers at three Upper Macungie Township warehouses have agreed to a new contract, avoiding a strike.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement between Americold Logistics and the United Auto Workers Local 677 was agreed to last week and ratified Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis contract delivers meaningful economic gains and reflects the strength, solidarity, and determination of the membership throughout the bargaining process,\u201d UAW Region 9 said in a social media post.<\/p>\n<p>Highlights of the agreement include a five-year deal with general wage increases of 10% in the first year, followed by 4% in the second, third, fourth and fifth years.<\/p>\n<p>Local 677 represents 143 workers at 7150 Ambassador Drive along with 651 Mill Road and 6985 Snowdrift Road.<\/p>\n<p>The previous contract expired July 31. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcall.com\/2026\/07\/28\/lehigh-valley-freight-company-strike\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Union workers at Americold authorized a strike<\/a>, but canceled a picket line after the agreement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Unionized workers at three Upper Macungie Township warehouses have agreed to a new contract, avoiding a strike.
