SCRANTON \u2014 A 17-year-old boy from Wilkes-Barre was charged as an adult in a shooting that injured a 21-year-old man in Scranton on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Scranton police say they responded to shots fired in the 1800 block of Roselyn Street in the Hill section just after 3 a.m.<\/p>\n

Officers located Ezekiel Soto, of Scranton, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Soto was transported to Geisinger Community Center in Scranton, where he underwent emergency surgery, police say.<\/p>\n

An investigation by Scranton police detectives led to the arrest of Marquese Cortell Richardson Jr., 17, of South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, as the alleged shooter.<\/p>\n

Richardson was arraigned Tuesday by District Judge Christopher J. Szewczyk on charges of criminal attempt to commit criminal homicide, firearms not to be carried without a license, reckless endangerment and two counts of aggravated assault. Richardson remained jailed Wednesday at the Lackawanna County Prison for lack of $250,000 bail.<\/p>\n
