ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Former William Allen basketball standout Tyrese Martin hosted a free basketball camp on Wednesday at the Canaries home court on 17th street.<\/p>\n
Martin played most recently with the Philadelphia 76ers, but spent most of his three-year career with the Brooklyn Nets. This season he will be playing for FC Barcelona in Spain.<\/p>\n
For now, Martin is helping to further the next generation of basketball stars.<\/p>\n
“Means a lot to me, personally. Growing up, I didn’t have opportunities like this, myself, to attend to – to close to a professional basketball player who played at the highest level,” said Martin. “It means a lot to me to come into my community and pour into it, instill hope in these kids and just be there for support and things like that.”<\/p>\n
