BETHLEHEM \u2014 The next free Bethlehem Land Trust concert at the Caroline Ferriday Preserve, 45 Main Street North, Bethlehem, will take place on Thursday, August 13. The group “Out of the Barn” will return again this year. The concert begins at 5:30 p.m. and goes until 7 p.m. Attendees are invited to bring chairs and refreshments and enjoy a concert in an extraordinary setting.<\/p>\n
A mix of bluegrass, country, and songs from the 60\u2019s and 70\u201ds make up the set list for Out of the Barn. Their variety of instruments lends itself to some interesting arrangements.<\/p>\n
Vocal duties are shared by John Demeyer (guitar), Larry Washington (banjo) and Nick DeLuise (drums). Rounding them out are Alan Holmes on guitar, Mary Crimi on violin and Sharon Elias on bass. The group started out playing together as part of a community performance at the Blues Caf\u00e9 venue in Southbury in pre-covid days. When a format change occurred there, Out of the Barn was formed. They fine-tuned their sound and set out for parts unknown.<\/p>\n
Practices take place at John\u2019s home in a building referred to as \u201cthe barn\u201d so when they are playing anywhere else, the band is literally \u201cOut of the Barn.\u201d<\/p>\n
