An Allentown man will spent 10 to 20 years in state prison for strangling the mother of his child and then telling her not to testify during his trial, the Lehigh County district attorney\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n
Dallas Young, 31, was convicted April 1 of\u00a0felony charges of strangulation and lesser charges of simple assault, harassment and witness intimidation.<\/p>\n
Upper Macungie Township police received a report of a domestic assault Dec. 11, 2024. The victim, who has a child with Young, said they were arguing, and the argument turned physical. The victim told police Young choked her, lifting her off the ground twice. He also hit her in the face, causing bruising and swelling. She recorded a portion of the assault on her cellphone.<\/p>\n
Soon after Young was taken to Lehigh County Jail, he called the victim repeatedly and told her not to come to court because the case against him could not proceed.
