Joyce A. (Yagelski) Frattali, 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.<\/p>\n
\nBorn on March 15, 1941, Joyce was the daughter of the late Paul and Sadie (Kowalkoski) Yagelski and the beloved wife of the late Ernest Frattali, with whom she shared 31 happy years of marriage. She is survived by her brother, Paul Yagelski of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her older brother, Ronald Yagelski.<\/p>\n
\nJoyce graduated from Dickson City High School in 1959 and opened her own beauty salon in Dickson City in 1971, which she successfully operated until 1988, when she married Ernest Frattali and moved to Parkville, Maryland. She was a longtime member of Beta Sigma Omega Sorority, as well as the local hairdressers\u2019 association. It was through this organization that she met her beloved Ernie.<\/p>\n
\nWhile living in the Baltimore area, Joyce volunteered for many years at the National Aquarium and enjoyed traveling with Ernie. She also discovered a love for pottery, honing her skills at the local senior center. Her handcrafted Santa Claus figurines became a particular favorite among family and friends.<\/p>\n
\nJoyce was also a woman of immense faith and was a familiar fixture within her Catholic communities both in Baltimore, and then in Dickson City after returning to Peckville in 2021. A devoted daughter, wife, and sister, she dedicated her life to her family and will be remembered for her deep faith, unwavering care, and boundless love.<\/p>\n
\nJoyce\u2019s funeral will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. in St. Mary\u2019s Visitation Church, Dickson City, celebrated by Msgr. Patrick Pratico, pastor. Family and friends will be received on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow Mass at St. Joseph\u2019s Cemetery, Scott Twp.
