{"id":260383,"date":"2026-08-06T15:02:15","date_gmt":"2026-08-06T15:02:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/260383\/"},"modified":"2026-08-06T15:02:15","modified_gmt":"2026-08-06T15:02:15","slug":"roper-romp-raises-money-for-berks-encore","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/260383\/","title":{"rendered":"Roper Romp raises money for Berks Encore"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The second annual Roper Romp has raised more than $2,500 to benefit Berks Encore.<\/p>\n<p>Officials said 57 people dressed as the iconic Mr. and Mrs. Roper from the classic sitcom \u201cThree\u2019s Company\u201d for the event Saturday in West Reading.<\/p>\n<p>The festivities began with brunch at Sly Fox Brewing Company, followed by appetizers at The Barley Mow and dessert at Midtown Sip, Savor &amp; Social.<\/p>\n<p>The fundraising continues as voting is open for the Roper Romp Costume Contest, with winners to be named in the Best Helen and Best Couple\/Group categories. Community members can vote by donating $1 per vote in support of their favorites at <a href=\"https:\/\/berksencore.org\/RoperRomp\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">BerksEncore.org\/RoperRomp<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Winners will be announced Aug. 25 during Berks Encore\u2019s Reading Fightin\u2019 Phils morning game.<\/p>\n<p>Funds raised support the organization\u2019s programs and services, including health and wellness initiatives, educational opportunities, social engagement, and other resources to help older adults thrive in their communities.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, contact Berks Encore at 610-374-3195 ext. 223.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The second annual Roper Romp has raised more than $2,500 to benefit Berks Encore.
