The victim finally reported the alleged attacks to cops after a friend urged her to come forward, the report said. <\/p>\n
She couldn\u2019t say exactly when the rapes began, but believed she was about 13. She said the attacks continued \u201calmost daily\u201d for several years. It was not clear how old the victim was when she alerted police.<\/p>\n
State investigators then confronted Spencer, asking him about recent explicit messages. He allegedly claimed to not remember them \u2014 despite them being sent only eight hours prior.<\/p>\n
In total, 5,538 charges were filed against Spencer, including just under 4,000 felonies. <\/p>\n
That\u2019s one charge for every single time Spencer allegedly harmed his victim, Tami Fees, deputy district attorney for Clearfield County, told The Post.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think the child is entitled to have this man be held accountable for each and every charge,\u201d Fees said.<\/p>\n
The charges include more than 300 counts each of rape by forcible compulsion, rape by threat of forcible compulsion, statutory sexual assault and other horrific crimes.<\/p>\n
Spencer also faces 42 counts each of six different charges related to child pornography and distributing obscene material involving a minor.<\/p>\n

Not every charge may make it to trial, but prosecutors aim to put Spencer away for life.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are multiple aspects that are underneath each individual charge that when we get down to getting ready for trial, do I have to proceed on all 5,000? No. But can we?
