SALISBURY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Salisbury Township police are increasing patrols near a local Girl Scouts Camp after a three-month-old fawn was found shot in the head with a BB gun.<\/p>\n

“The entry was behind her right eye, and it’s currently lodged behind her left eye in the orbital socket,” said Jessica Metzgar, who has been rehabbing fawns for four years.<\/p>\n

Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation brought the fawn to her hours after it was found near the Mountain House Girl Scout Camp on West Rock Road.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Meztgar, who is part of the Wilderz at Pocono Wildlife, says the fawn had several seizures and she was worried that the fawn might not make it through the night.<\/p>\n

But after some medical attention, Metzgar became more hopeful.<\/p>\n

The Pennsylvania Game Commission says its aware of the incident and is investigating.<\/p>\n

Metzgar says the fawn needs more rehabilitation, and that she wonders how this happened.<\/p>\n

“For it to go from her skull from one side to another, they would have had to have been close enough that they knew it was a fawn, so there’s definitely a concerns that it was intentional,” she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
