IMPACT: Tropical downpours, feels like upper 90s in south central Pennsylvania<\/p>\n

Sultry heat and humidity will persist through early next week.<\/p>\n

Good afternoon,<\/p>\n

The window for storms today is now until 10 p.m. Isolated thunderstorms will develop over the next few hours, then scattered thunderstorms are most likely between 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Storms will diminish after dark.<\/p>\n

The entire Susquehanna Valley is in a marginal risk for severe weather, meaning a few storms could produce damaging wind gusts as the main threat. In addition, high humidity will produce tropical downpours, which could lead to isolated flash flooding.<\/p>\n

A Heat Advisory is in effect for Lebanon and Lancaster Counties from noon until 8 p.m. Highs around 90 degrees, plus sultry humidity, will make it feel like 100 degrees in these areas. The heat index across the rest of the Susquehanna Valley will range from the mid-to-upper 90s.<\/p>\n

Tonight, temperatures fall to the low-to-mid 70s under partly cloudy skies. Areas of fog will redevelop, and it will be muggy.<\/p>\n

IMPACT FRIDAY:
Friday is a rinse-and-repeat forecast. We’re under a marginal risk for severe weather again, meaning a few storms could produce damaging wind gusts in the afternoon and evening. Heavy rain is also a threat, and the downpours could lead to isolated flash flooding. Highs will hover near 90 degrees, and humidity will be soupy, making it feel like the upper 90s.<\/p>\n

REMAINING HOT AND HUMID:
We have another round of afternoon and evening thunderstorms Saturday, although coverage might not be as high as Thursday and Friday. Temperatures will remain consistent in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees, and humidity will remain high. Heavy rain is the biggest threat from storms.<\/p>\n

Drier days are in store Sunday and Monday, but isolated thunderstorms can’t be ruled out. Highs will reach 90 degrees.<\/p>\n

FINALLY SOME RELIEF:
A cold front will approach Tuesday into Wednesday, bringing a chance of showers and storms. Highs will fall to the low-to-mid 80s behind the front, and humidity will drop to more typical levels for this time of the year. Expect dew points in the low-to-mid 60s at the end of the week, with another chance of showers and thunderstorms Friday.<\/p>\n
