{"id":260903,"date":"2026-08-07T09:20:13","date_gmt":"2026-08-07T09:20:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/260903\/"},"modified":"2026-08-07T09:20:13","modified_gmt":"2026-08-07T09:20:13","slug":"pittsburgh-restaurant-under-consumer-alert-for-2nd-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/260903\/","title":{"rendered":"Pittsburgh restaurant under Consumer Alert for 2nd time"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A restaurant in Pittsburgh is under Consumer Alert after an inspection on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Caribbean Village Fusion at 3507 Cable Place in Oakland was hit with three total violations, one considered high-risk.<\/p>\n<p>The high-risk violation is due to food being held at improper temperatures.<\/p>\n<p>Inspectors say that mac and cheese, jerk chicken, collard greens and \u201cmultiple Ziplock baggies of chicken and pans of chicken were all temped between 49 and 60 degrees.<\/p>\n<p>The proper cold-holding temperature is 41 degrees or lower.<\/p>\n<p>Those foods were thrown away and is a repeat violation.<\/p>\n<p>The inspection also states that multiple pans of chicken were undated.<\/p>\n<p>The ambient temperature of the cooler was 55 degrees.<\/p>\n<p>For the Consumer Alert to be corrected, inspectors say that there are three coolers that need to be serviced and\/or repaired.<\/p>\n<p>A follow-up inspection is scheduled for August 14. <\/p>\n<p>This is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.audacy.com\/kdkaradio\/news\/local\/pittsburgh-consumer-alert-2676864711\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">second <\/a>Consumer Alert for the Caribbean Village Fusion in Oakland this year.<\/p>\n<p>A previous one was issued in early May and was corrected a few days later. <\/p>\n<p>To see the full inspection and any updates, visit the Health Department\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alleghenycounty.us\/Services\/Health-Department\/Food-Safety\/Alerts-Closures-and-Enforcements\/Consumer-Alerts-and-Closures\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">website<\/a>. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A restaurant in Pittsburgh is under Consumer Alert after an inspection on Wednesday.
