LECOM Health is expanding its reach in rural Erie County with the opening of a new Colonial Family Pharmacy in Greene Township.<\/p>\n
The goal is to provide reliable, local healthcare so residents do not have to drive to Harborcreek or Erie for basic prescriptions.<\/p>\n
LECOM Health leaders say Greene Township has long needed a pharmacy, with residents often traveling into Harborcreek or Erie for routine prescriptions.<\/p>\n
The new Colonial Family Pharmacy is located directly beside the Rural Health Clinic, creating what officials describe as a hometown healthcare hub.<\/p>\n
They say the goal is simple: reliable access, shorter travel times, and better follow-through on medications.<\/p>\n
“We’re excited to open Colonial Family Pharmacy number four. Residents here will no longer have to drive into Erie or Harborcreek to get the medication they need. This is hometown healthcare, meeting the community where it is,” said Marcus Babiak, chief operations officer of LECOM Health.<\/p>\n
LECOM leaders say placing the pharmacy in Greene Township was not a random decision. Instead, they say it was based on community need.<\/p>\n
“Standing outside the new Colonial Family Pharmacy on Wattsburg Road, staff say this fourth location strengthens rural access to give families faster, more connected care,” Stephanie Logue reported.<\/p>\n
“Because we have a rural health clinic here, it provides all of the convenience for those we serve through our rural health clinics. As soon as they see our physicians and providers, they can literally walk over and get their prescriptions,” said Dr. James Lin, medical director for the Rural Health Clinic.<\/p>\n
LECOM says the investment reflects its commitment to both primary care and preventive health in rural Erie County.<\/p>\n
