PITTSTON \u2014 The Greater Pittston Santa Squad (GPSS) cancelled the annual Christmas in July due to slow ticket sales this past July leaving a slight problem, what do they do with all the raffle baskets donated for Christmas in July?<\/p>\n
That problem has been remedied and the all the raffle baskets will go off on Wednesday, Aug. 12 at The Red Mill, 340 S. Main St., Pittston from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with raffles going off at 8 p.m.<\/p>\n
Raffle sales will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Those holding tickets do not have to be present to win.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have 17 really good baskets to raffle off,\u201d Tony Marranca, president of the GPSS, said. \u201cWe have gift cards from places like The Refinery and Rikasa and other restaurant, we have a pizza basket with about 17 gift certificates for pizza for 17 trays or pizza. We also have a Susquehanna Brewing Co. basket, summer baskets, a $100 car wash basket, and more.\u201d<\/p>\n
You get 25 chances for $10, Marranca added.<\/p>\n
With the cancellation of the Christmas in July event, the GPSS is a bit behind on fundraising for gifts for the children of Wyoming Area and Pittston Area.<\/p>\n
Entry is free at The Red Mill on Aug. 12.<\/p>\n
