<\/p>\n Lawyer for former Allentown police officer accused of having sex with prostitutes says investigators influenced witness identification<\/a><\/p>\n
In the July filing, attorney Jim Burke focused on the identification of Krasley by a female accuser known as A.V.<\/p>\n
The document contained screenshots from the March 2025 recorded interview with A.V. And two investigators.<\/p>\n
During that interview, the filing says:<\/p>\n
“A.V. identified the wrong year of the claimed interaction and could not identify the proper location.”<\/p>\n
The filing says A.V. was initially shown a photo array that contained 11 photos, including Krasley’s, and that:<\/p>\n
“After looking at each of the photographs for the first time, A.V. shakes her head in negation.”<\/p>\n
A few minutes later, A.V. reportedly pointed to a photograph of Krasley’s former co-defendant, Evan Weaver, saying:<\/p>\n
“He looks like he was there… But no one else looks familiar.”<\/p>\n
A separate case involving Krasley and Weaver was dismissed after a different accuser stopped cooperating. All charges against Weaver were dropped.<\/p>\n
The filing says twice during the March interview, investigators shuffled through paperwork in view of A.V. that included a full-size image of Krasley, and later put the image in front of A.V.<\/p>\n
During a second photo array, the filing says that A.V. pointed to Krasley, asking:<\/p>\n
“That’s not him by chance, is it?”<\/p>\n
And after the investigators were silent, A.V. continued:<\/p>\n
“I guess not.”<\/p>\n
Krasley’s attorney says the photo identification procedure used by investigators was suggestive, influenced the outcome and violated Krasley’s constitutional rights.<\/p>\n
The judge in the case has ruled that the identification made by A.V. cannot be used by prosecutors.<\/p>\n
Krasley faces three cases of allegedly having sex with prostitutes while on duty.<\/p>\n
In earlier filings, Krasley’s attorney, Jim Burke, argued all of the cases against his client should be dismissed due to prosecutorial misconduct.<\/p>\n
Burke saying a former Lehigh County assistant district attorney that oversaw the investigation had conflicts of interest in the case.<\/p>\n
In August of 2025, the case was referred to the Pennsylvania Attorney General.<\/p>\n
