PITTSBURGH \u2014 It\u2019s been a month since a shuttered Mt. Washington Church caught fire. But the building still hasn\u2019t been demolished. <\/p>\n
>>> See photos of the fire damage <<< <\/a><\/p>\n Initially, the demolition permit was supposed to be issued in late July. Pittsburgh councilwoman Kim Salinetro tells Channel 11 the demolition has been held up by the contractor\u2019s insistence that the tear-down happen overnight.<\/p>\n She says the city will not let that happen because neighbors will be trying to sleep. Because of this dispute, Salinetro says the permit has not been approved, and a demolition date has not been set.<\/p>\n The church\u2019s contractor tells Channel 11 he proposed a nighttime demolition to avoid pedestrians walking around the city.
