Ahead of Game 2 between the Pirates and Mets Saturday evening, Endy Rodr\u00edguez was removed from the lineup due to left hip discomfort, the club announced via social media. He is currently being examined by the team\u2019s medical staff.<\/p>\n
Following multiple starts in a row, Rodr\u00edguez was absent from the starting lineup during Pittsburgh\u2019s 6-4 loss to the Mets on Friday. He came in to pinch hit for Jared Triolo in the bottom of the ninth, but flew out on his only at bat.<\/p>\n
Rodr\u00edguez has been something of a jack-of-all trades player this year for Pittsburgh, as he\u2019s filled in at catcher, first base and designated hitter this season.
