\t\t\tOBITUARY\t\t<\/p>\n
David M. Brownell, 68, of Carbondale, died Tuesday, August 4th, at Geisinger CMC, as a result of injuries suffered in a motor vehicle crash on July 25th. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Joan Colosimo, who died November 10, 2023.<\/p>\n
\nBorn in Carbondale, son of Lillian Stawisky Brownell, of Carbondale, and the late Donald Butch Brownell, he was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale. He received his Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Scranton. For many years, he was a self employed contractor and electrician. He currently owned and operated Lenny\u2019s Liquidation and 107-11 Mini Mart in Fleetville alongside his daughter Lauren. He was a member of the Elkview Country Club, the Carbondale Stock Club, the National Rifle Association, and a former member of the Elk Mountain Ski Patrol. He enjoyed sharing his love of music with his daughter Lauren.<\/p>\n
\nAlso surviving are his daughter: Lauren Brownell, Carbondale; a granddaughter: Piper Brownell; a sister: Linda Zefran and husband Dr. James Zefran, Browndale; nieces and nephews: Dr. Katie Zefran. Dr. Marissa Nacinovich, Lauren Zefran Reidy, Jim Colosimo, Tristin Colosimo, Alan Bowerman, Kelly Gregory; and several aunts and cousins.<\/p>\n
\nHe was also preceded in death by a son: Nathan Brownell; and two brothers: Donald Brownell II and Steven Brownell.<\/p>\n
\nIn light of this tragedy, we ask everyone who knew David to please share your favorite \u201cPunkin or Uncle Buck\u201d stories with others. He truly was special in creating memories.<\/p>\n
\nThe funeral will be Wednesday, August 12th, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Friends may call Tuesday, from 5 to 8 pm at the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale, and on Wednesday morning at the church from 9 am until mass time.<\/p>\n
