\t\t\tOBITUARY\t\t<\/p>\n
David G. Watkins, 76, of South Scranton, died Monday, August 3, 2026, at the Allied Services Hospice Center. His wife of 56 years is the former Shirley Ann Shoemaker.<\/p>\n
\nBorn in Scranton, he was the son of the late Alfred and June Howe Watkins. A graduate of Scranton Technical High School, Class of 1967, he attended Mansfield University. Prior to retirement he was employed by Geisinger.<\/p>\n
\nDave was an avid sports fan enjoying the Yankees and Packers. Played Tavern League Baseball, touch football and was known as Davie the deer. Golf was his passion! Letters to the editor, history and politics filled his days. It was important to vote in every election. So, please vote this November in his memory.<\/p>\n
\nDave wanted to thank everyone for their kind words and actions during this difficult time.<\/p>\n
\nAlso surviving are son Ian and wife Tara, Scranton; Beloved dog Darcy, brother Terry Watkins; sisters Heather Fezuk, Lorna Watkins, Melissa Reviello; several nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n
\nHe was preceded in death by daughter Melanie Watkins; brother Russell Watkins.<\/p>\n
\nFuneral services will be held private at the convenience of the family.<\/p>\n
\nArrangements are under the care and direction of the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., Scranton.<\/p>\n
