{"id":262297,"date":"2026-08-09T23:04:10","date_gmt":"2026-08-09T23:04:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/262297\/"},"modified":"2026-08-09T23:04:10","modified_gmt":"2026-08-09T23:04:10","slug":"back-2-school-bash-benefits-berks-county-students-with-free-supplies-and-activities-homepage-top-stories","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/262297\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Back 2 School Bash&#8217; benefits Berks County students with free supplies and activities | Homepage Top Stories"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FLEETWOOD BORO., Pa. &#8212; The Berks County community is getting students ready for the upcoming school year.<\/p>\n<p>The 5th annual &#8220;Back 2 School Bash&#8221; hosted by Glory to Glory Church in Kutztown kicked off at Fleetwood Park Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Students from kindergarten to middle school picked up free book bags, school supplies, gift cards and more, all while enjoying fun activities.<\/p>\n<p>The goal is to support families, and help every child feel excited and prepared for the new school year.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Instead of just going to church not doing anything, we want to help the community and help where they really need it. Supplies are very expensive, especially now,&#8221; Pastor Saul Hicks said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>All of the items were donated to Glory to Glory Church in Kutztown, and the church then distributed the supplies.<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8211; more than 500 book bags were given away to students across the community.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"FLEETWOOD BORO., Pa. &#8212; The Berks County community is getting students ready for the upcoming school year.
