(WHTM) \u2014 A sure sign that summertime is waning and spooky season will soon be upon us: Spirit Halloween is opening in shopping centers across the Midstate.<\/p>\n

Over the past month, the popular retailer had been gearing up to open in Dauphin<\/a> and Lancaster counties.<\/a><\/p>\n

Many locations are now open or will be in the next month or so, in case you wanted to pick up your Halloween costume while back-to-school shopping.<\/p>\n

\u00a0With spooky season approaching, PA Labor & Industry aims to protect young performers\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

The retailer began hiring for more than 52,000 positions nationwide in June<\/a>, preparing for what they called a “record-breaking” year.<\/p>\n

Almost like a ghost, Spirit Halloween is filling the spaces of various bygone retailers like Rite Aid, Sears, Bon-Ton, Bed Bath and Beyond, and Big Lots across central Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n

For most of the Midstate, a location is within about a half-hour’s drive or will be soon.<\/p>\n

Eleven stores are in the Midstate and another eleven or so are in adjacent counties:<\/p>\n
