As another beautiful weekend begins, we\u2019re taking a moment to celebrate the many hands and generous hearts that help keep the Roxborough Home for Women a welcoming place for the women who call it home.<\/p>\n

This week brought some wonderful progress around our campus at 601 Leverington Avenue!<\/p>\n

Our longtime entrance sign has received a much-needed makeover.<\/p>\n

Once weathered by age and the elements, it has now been cleaned, restored, and beautifully repainted with fresh colors that proudly reflect the Home\u2019s enduring presence in the Roxborough community.<\/p>\n

We think it looks wonderful, and we hope our neighbors do too!<\/p>\n

We\u2019re also excited to share the generous donation of beautiful teak park benches and a matching table. These quality pieces have weathered the years remarkably well and will soon be power washed, refinished, and thoughtfully placed throughout our grounds, creating peaceful places where our residents can relax, visit with family and friends, and enjoy the beauty of our historic property.<\/p>\n

Our sincere thanks go to Board Member Meghan McGeoy and our friends at Lima Estates for this thoughtful gift and their continued support of our mission.<\/p>\n

Construction also continues to move forward on our historic front porch.<\/p>\n

The railings have been installed and will soon be restored and painted, along with the porch itself.<\/p>\n

Remaining work includes gutter and roofing repairs and installation of the new front stairs as we continue working alongside our outstanding partners at Neighborhood Contracting.<\/p>\n

Every step brings us closer to preserving this remarkable 138-year-old Home for generations to come.<\/p>\n

Maintaining a historic home like ours is truly a community effort.<\/p>\n

Every improvement, every volunteer, every donor, every contractor, every board member, and every friend plays a part in preserving not just a beautiful building, but a place where senior women are cared for with dignity, compassion, and respect.<\/p>\n
