Hundreds of local nonprofits are preparing for one of the region’s largest fundraising events as Erie Gives returns for its 16th annual day of online giving.<\/p>\n

This year, 547 nonprofit organizations have registered to participate in the community-wide fundraising campaign, which supports charities and community organizations throughout Erie County.<\/p>\n

The 24-hour event starts online here<\/a> beginning at midnight and continues through midnight on August 11, giving donors an entire day to support the causes that matter most to them.<\/p>\n

For those who need assistance making a donation, an Erie Gives phone bank will be available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with staff ready to help donors complete their contributions by calling (814) 454-0843.<\/p>\n

Due to ongoing construction at The Erie Community Foundation campus, organizers are moving the traditional celebration to the Erie Insurance Courtyard, located between French and Holland streets on West Sixth Street. The Erie Gives Celebration will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on August 11.<\/p>\n

The event will feature a Nonprofit Discovery District, where more than 100 participating nonprofits will be on hand to meet community members, explain their missions and showcase the impact of their work across the region.<\/p>\n
