{"id":263276,"date":"2026-08-11T14:40:08","date_gmt":"2026-08-11T14:40:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/263276\/"},"modified":"2026-08-11T14:40:08","modified_gmt":"2026-08-11T14:40:08","slug":"man-20-sentenced-to-10-20-years-in-prison-for-shooting-woman-in-bethlehem","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/263276\/","title":{"rendered":"Man, 20, sentenced to 10-20 years in prison for shooting woman in Bethlehem"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Bethlehem man will spend at least a decade in prison for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcall.com\/2024\/02\/29\/bethlehem-police-seek-teen-in-shooting-that-injured-woman\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">shooting two years ago in the city.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Allen Grimes, 20, was sentenced Monday to 10 to 20 years in prison for shooting a woman in the 400 block of Cherokee Street on Feb. 28, 2024, according to Northampton County District Attorney Stephen Baratta.<\/p>\n<p>Grimes shot the woman in the neck that afternoon, then fled. Surveillance footage showed Grimes running from the scene, according to police. A man who was with the victim during the shooting told authorities he and Grimes knew each other, and he previously had a conflict with him, court documents state.<\/p>\n<p>The victim, 22, was hospitalized of her injuries.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcall.com\/2024\/04\/03\/teen-wanted-in-bethlehem-shooting-arrested-in-new-york-police-say\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Grimes was arrested in New York City about a month later,<\/a> and charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault and possessing an instrument of crime.<\/p>\n<p>He pleaded guilty Monday to charges of aggravated assault, according to a DA\u2019s office news release.
