READING, Pa. – A 23-year-old man is dead after a crash in Reading on Monday night.<\/p>\n
The Berks County district attorney tells 69 News that the motorcyclist was leading city officers on a chase when his bike hit an SUV.<\/p>\n
Reading Police say the accident occurred at the intersection of North 9th Street and Green Street.<\/p>\n
The operator of the motorcycle was transported to Reading Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries around 10:40 p.m., officials say.<\/p>\n
An autopsy has been scheduled for Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The coroner\u2019s office said the motorcyclist has been positively identified, and notification of next of kin has been completed.<\/p>\n
However, the person\u2019s identity is being withheld at this time to allow family members the opportunity to grieve this sudden and tragic loss, according to the coroner\u2019s office.<\/p>\n
The Berks County Coroner\u2019s Office and the Reading Police Department are conducting a joint investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. The investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n
