The Millcreek Township General Authority (MTGA) is inviting residents to learn more about the proposed Presque Isle Gateway District and provide feedback on the project’s future during a public open house next month.<\/p>\n
The open house is scheduled for September 2 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Erie County Community College (EC3). The event will give community members an opportunity to meet the development team, review plans, and share their thoughts before final decisions are made.<\/p>\n
Attendees will be able to provide feedback through a variety of methods, including interactive display boards, printed surveys, and digital surveys. For those unable to attend, officials said the survey will remain available online after the event.<\/p>\n
The project is being led by Millcreek Momentum, LLC, a partnership involving JMF Properties, Gladstone Equities, and former Pennsylvania Governor Mark Schweiker, who serves as a senior advisor and partner.<\/p>\n
Leading the development team is Joseph M. Forgione, founder of JMF Properties. Forgione brings more than 25 years of experience in real estate development and has overseen the construction of more than 3,000 residential units as well as numerous commercial and retail developments. Gladstone Equities contributes more than 40 years of expertise in commercial, retail, and mixed-use projects, while Schweiker offers experience in government and township-level development initiatives.<\/p>\n
Current plans for the Gateway District envision a mixed-use development featuring residential housing, retail space, hospitality options, and public amenities. Proposed public improvements include enhanced pedestrian and bicycle connectivity throughout the area.<\/p>\n
Officials emphasized that community feedback will play an important role in shaping the project’s final design, particularly when it comes to public amenities.<\/p>\n
According to officials several key decisions remain ahead and that continued public participation will help guide those choices as planning moves forward.<\/p>\n
