Reading Terminal Market\u2019s Ice Cream Festival<\/a> is returning to Philadelphia for another tasty celebration. Set for Saturday, Aug. 15, from noon to 4 p.m., the market will once again transform the 1100 block of Filbert Street into one of the largest community ice cream festivals in the country. Hosted in partnership with Bassetts Ice Cream<\/a>, admission is free, so visitors can stop by anytime to purchase treats.<\/p>\n Throughout the event, Bassetts Ice Cream will serve its signature scoops alongside handcrafted gelato from Cloud Cups, premium ice cream from Milk Jawn and Irv\u2019s Ice Cream and much more. The four-member ensemble is drawn from Philadelphia bluegrass group The Citywide Specials and became popular across the city for their old-time approach to traditional American string-band music.<\/p>\n On Sunday, The Salty Crackers will perform fiddle tunes, ballads, and acoustic arrangements spanning early American folk traditions through the first half of the 20th century.
