LOWER SAUCON TWP., Pa. \u2013 A popular spot for sipping chambourcin, chardonnay and other wines is bidding farewell in Northampton County.<\/p>\n
Black River Farms Vineyard & Winery, a family-owned and -operated vineyard and winery, is planning to cease its tasting room operations on Aug. 30 at 2472 Black River Road in Lower Saucon Township, according to a post on the business\u2019 Facebook page.<\/p>\n
\u201cOver the past 17 years, our garden\/vineyard hobby has evolved into a business far greater than we could have imagined,\u201d husband-and-wife owners Andy and Kris Warner wrote in the online announcement.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have been blessed to spend this time surrounded by beautiful grapevines, flowers, vegetables, and wildlife, but, more importantly, by an amazing team and guests that have become our BRF Family. Your support and loyalty over the years has meant the world to us, and we are grateful for the experience of providing service to our community. Your visits have filled our days with such joy! While we are retiring from the wine and spirits business, we appreciate every fond memory, and we will miss you!\u201d<\/p>\n
In the Warners\u2019 next chapter, they will continue to manage the Black River Farms property but \u201cwill focus on enjoying more time in the company of family and friends, with a bit of travel sprinkled in,\u201d according to the online announcement.<\/p>\n
Following Black River Farms\u2019 establishment in 2009, the business\u2019 first grapevines were planted in 2010 with its first harvest following a few years later in 2013.<\/p>\n
The tasting room opened in a renovated barn in 2017.<\/p>\n
Guests can enjoy a wide array of hand-crafted wines, including red, white and ros\u00e9 varieties.<\/p>\n
\u201cBlessed with rich and productive soils that assist us in growing grapes of the highest quality, we are proud to share the final product, our flavorful wines,\u201d reads a message on the business\u2019 website. \u201cEnjoy a wine experience in our relaxed, rustic tasting area.\u201d<\/p>\n
Black River Farms\u2019 tasting room will continue to operate noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through Aug. 30.<\/p>\n
