Two found dead, children unharmed after shooting in Pittsburgh’s Northview Heights neighborhood<\/p>\n

Two people were found dead after a shooting in Pittsburgh’s Northview Heights neighborhood on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n

Allegheny County emergency dispatchers said police were called to an apartment in the 100 block of Hazlett Street.<\/p>\n

A woman and a man were found dead inside, along with four children who were unharmed, Pittsburgh Public Safety spokesperson Emily Bourne said.<\/p>\n

Witness accounts indicated that there was some sort of domestic altercation leading up to the shooting, according to police.<\/p>\n

“There is a fair bit of damage to one of the units, indicating that at least one of the deceased individuals were firing rounds prior to entry into that apartment,” Bourne said.<\/p>\n

The shooting is under investigation by Pittsburgh police, who said there is no ongoing threat to the public.<\/p>\n

“I will say that, at this time, we have no outstanding individuals in this case,” Bourne said.<\/p>\n

Police said the children, ages 11, 9 and two 7-year-olds, were taken to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh as a precaution.<\/p>\n

It’s unclear who the children belong to, and the relationship between the two gunshot victims has not been determined, police said.<\/p>\n
