Children from across Erie got a glimpse into the future August 12 as the Futuristic Fair opened at the expERIEnce Children’s Museum, giving young people the opportunity to explore technology, engineering and innovation through hands-on activities.<\/p>\n
The event brought together some of the region’s top technical minds to introduce children to emerging technologies and potential career paths in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).<\/p>\n
Among the highlights were demonstrations featuring camera-equipped drones, allowing kids to see firsthand how the technology is used in real-world applications. Attendees also learned about the technology that powers modern trains and transportation systems.<\/p>\n
Gannon University was on hand to provide a 3D modeling workshop, offering participants an interactive look at digital design and the creative possibilities available through advanced technology.<\/p>\n
The goal of the event was to show children that innovation is happening right here in Erie and that they can play a role in shaping the future of the community and beyond.<\/p>\n
In addition to the educational opportunities, families received discounted admission to the museum for the day thanks to a sponsorship from Industrial Sales & Manufacturing, Inc.<\/p>\n
