{"id":264881,"date":"2026-08-13T22:44:40","date_gmt":"2026-08-13T22:44:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/264881\/"},"modified":"2026-08-13T22:44:40","modified_gmt":"2026-08-13T22:44:40","slug":"no-credible-threat-found-at-erie-school-after-swatting-incident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/264881\/","title":{"rendered":"No credible threat found at Erie school after &#8220;swatting&#8221; incident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Erie police found no suspicious devices or evidence of a credible threat at the Meadowlark School after the school received a bomb threat phone call Thursday afternoon.\n<\/p>\n<p>Parents and students were being reunited at the school, which serves pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade students, according to Amber Luttrell, an Erie police spokesperson.\n<\/p>\n<p>The school went on lockdown for about an hour Thursday afternoon while law enforcement responded to clear the building, according to an email from the school\u2019s principal sent to parents and staff.<\/p>\n<p>The threat, which police are calling a \u201cswatting\u201d incident, came on the first day of school for seventh and eighth graders, and the second day for other students, according to a Boulder Valley School District calendar.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe recognize how unsettling incidents like this are for students, families, educators, and our broader community,\u201d Erie police said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/share\/p\/1JvKh1vwiS\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">social media post<\/a>. \u201cThese incidents cause fear for students, families, and staff; disrupt learning; and require substantial public safety resources. Investigations into the source of these threats can involve local, state, and federal law enforcement partners and may include examination of digital and telecommunications evidence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The school will resume its normal schedule Friday, according to the email.
