PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) — “We are now lifelong friends for sure.”<\/p>\n

The Brill family was planning a trip to Scotland when they heard the Phillies would play the Mets in the 2024 London Series. So, they extended their trip to attend.<\/p>\n

By chance, they sat next to the Davies family, who traveled to London from their hometown in South Wales to experience American baseball.<\/p>\n

Lee Davies had just come off a cancer diagnosis, but was determined to push through treatment and make it to the games.<\/p>\n

The two families from across the world began chatting over their shared love of baseball. They took a photo together and shared contact information.<\/p>\n

They exchanged emails over the following years, and ultimately inspired the Davies’ decision to visit Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

The Brill family welcomed them with open arms, taking them on a tour across the city and a Phillies game.<\/p>\n
