Police are investigating whether two shootings that happened in North Philadelphia are connected after they happened minutes apart on Friday night. <\/p>\n
According to Philadelphia Police Inspector D.F. Pace, the first shooting happened around 8:16 p.m. on Aug. 14 near the intersection of 21st and Gratz streets in North Philly. <\/p>\n
When officers got to the scene, they reported finding a young man who had been shot multiple times throughout his body, Pace said. The man was taken to a nearby hospital where he was placed in critical condition. <\/p>\n
Detectives also found about 20 spent shell casings at that scene, Pace explained. Officers were able to stop a vehicle of interest and that is being included as part of the crime scene.<\/p>\n
Then, a second shooting unfolded minutes later around 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of 24th and Elkhart streets which is about one and a half miles from the first incident, Pace said.<\/p>\n
Officials reported finding a crime scene that had about 25 to 30 spent shell casings but no shooting victim there. <\/p>\n
Then, officers quickly learned that a 23-year-old man showed up to an area hospital with a gunshot wound to his back, Pace said. The man is listed in stable condition.<\/p>\n
No motives have been connected to these shooting and no one has been arrested yet. <\/p>\n
Inspector Pace said that there is nothing officially tying these two shootings together yet, but detectives are looking to see if they are connected. <\/p>\n
