A Philadelphia man is facing felony charges after Hatfield Township Police alleged<\/a> he broke into a home, smashed windows, and barricaded himself inside a bathroom.<\/p>\n

Christopher Hansen-Freer, 38, was charged with felony counts of criminal trespass and criminal mischief following the Aug. 10 incident in the 2100 block of North Line Street.<\/p>\n

Police were dispatched to the property at 6:07 p.m. after a witness reported seeing a man break into a neighbor\u2019s vehicle and later sweep glass from the porch, according to the probable cause affidavit.<\/p>\n

Officers arrived to find that all the windows of a black Nissan Rogue had been smashed. Broken glass was found on the ground and inside the vehicle, police said.<\/p>\n

Investigators said they were familiar with the home through prior contacts with the defendant. The description provided by the witness matched Hansen-Freer, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

While officers were outside, they heard a window opening inside the home but received no response after knocking several times, police alleged.<\/p>\n

Police listed five previous arrests involving alleged violations connected to Hansen-Freer, with the most recent occurring in January.<\/p>\n

Another resident arrived while police were investigating and reported that the damage had not been present when she left the property at about 1:30 p.m., the complaint states.<\/p>\n

In addition to the damaged vehicle, officers found a broken front window and shattered glass panels in an exterior kitchen door. Police said matching glass had been placed in a trash container near the porch.<\/p>\n

Hansen-Freer allegedly yelled at officers through a bathroom window and refused to leave the house. Police entered the residence, but he continued refusing to come out of the bathroom, according to the affidavit.<\/p>\n

Officers eventually forced open the bathroom door and took Hansen-Freer into custody without further incident. He was transported to Montgomery County Correctional Facility.<\/p>\n

Police said Hansen-Freer also had an active Montgomery County warrant for an alleged parole violation involving drugs.<\/p>\n

Hansen-Freer was jailed in Montgomery County on $25,077 cash bail, which includes a parole detainer. A preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 8 before Magisterial District Judge Andrea Duffy.<\/p>\n

The charges are allegations. Hansen-Freer is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.<\/p>\n
