The Philadelphia Zoo is not about the let go of one of the most eventful summers in the history of the region.<\/p>\n

Philadelphia Zoo\u2019s End-of-Summer Spectacular will run through Sept. 13 with several special and new events, including a viral musician singing straight to the animals and the re-scheduled annual beer festival.<\/p>\n

Celebrated by millions across the globe for his unique sound and special connection with animals, Loris Assadian \u2014 better known by his social media name, PLUMES \u2014 will visit the zoo with his signature pink guitar and sing for the animals.<\/p>\n

PLUMES, a French artist and social media star, raises awareness about the beauty of the animal world and the importance of its preservation by regularly singing for animals.<\/p>\n

The musician will be playing for the animals Aug. 20 and 21, starting at 10 a.m. each day.<\/p>\n

The smoky air earlier this summer caused the zoo\u2019s annual Summer Ale Fest to be postponed.<\/p>\n

The zoo is bringing more than 100 beers, ciders, seltzers, mead, spirits, and nonalcoholic options, including new vendors, to its 42-acre campus for the wildest festival of the season Aug. 22.<\/p>\n

Performing this year are Philly-based bands Nik Greeley and the Operators, Echo Kid and Moonroof. Summer Ale Fest is limited to those 21 or older with valid identification. No children, including infants, permitted. Tickets are still available.<\/p>\n

The zoo is staying open late on Aug. 28 until 8 p.m. to celebrate the end of summer with a relaxing evening with the animals.<\/p>\n

The zoo\u2019s new Art Festival is Aug. 29, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n

Discover handmade treasures inspired by the beauty of nature, enjoy live music from Seth Aaron Jones, light bites, and support over 30 local artists and makers, including the zoo\u2019s animals.<\/p>\n

Mama and Papa Berenstain Bear are stopping at the zoo for a picnic on Sept. 5, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

The Teddy Bear Picnic will be celebrating the opening of the all-new Carey Bear Country.<\/p>\n

The event, under the tent on Impala Lawn, includes meet-and-greets with Mama and Papa Bear, a scavenbear hunt with prizes, a Teddy Bear Clinic with the zoo\u2019s veterinary team, music, lawn games, bear-themed face paint and caricature designs.<\/p>\n

Guests can also purchase an exclusive picnic basket, available for pre-order only, that includes a limited-edition copy of the book \u201cThe Berenstain Bears: Welcome to Bear Country\u201d featuring a sticker made specially for Philadelphia Zoo.<\/p>\n

The zoo\u2019s first car show will take over the grounds Sept. 13, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring nearly a dozen classic cars parked throughout the zoo and more than 100 cars in the Giraffe Lot on Girard Avenue.<\/p>\n
