Dupont VFW Post 4909 Home Association\u2019s annual Sock Hop party, Sept. 12, post home, doors open 4:30 p.m., dinner served 6, and music, 7-10. Cash bar for mixed drinks, wine, beer, bottled water and soda, music by Luongo Brothers Band, $30\/person. For tickets and reservations, see or call Bob at the VFW, 570-472-1152. Deadline for reservations is the Friday before the party. Tickets cannot be sold at the door. All PLCB regulations apply. Barrels will be out for the sock collection. POW\/MIA Recognition Day<\/p>\n
POW\/MIA Recognition Day will be conducted Sept 18 with a missing man ceremony at 4 p.m. at Scranton Veterans Memorial Park, adjacent to Scranton Veterans Memorial Stadium. Joe Sylvester will conduct the ceremony. Bill Stevens, Jim Casella and Pat Ahern will participate. The public is invited.<\/p>\n
