YORK, Pa. (WHTM) \u2014 The Pennsylvania Superior Court is giving folks the opportunity to see and learn about the state courts’ appeals process in York County.<\/p>\n
The Superior Court will hold a special session this Tuesday and Wednesday beginning at 9:30 a.m.<\/p>\n
This will be in the Ceremonial Courtroom at the York County Administrative Center.<\/p>\n
Superior Court President Judge Anne E. Lazarus, Judge Victor P. Stabile and President Judge Emeritus John T. Bender will sit on the panel, hearing arguments in 26 cases.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
During oral arguments, attorneys present legal arguments to the panel, which reviews the record from the trial court and considers whether the law was applied correctly.<\/p>\n
The Superior Court is one of the Commonwealth’s two intermediate appellate courts and hears appeals involving criminal and most civil cases from the Courts of Common Pleas, as well as appeals from certain state agencies.<\/p>\n
Created in 1895, the Court’s decisions help ensure the consistent application of Pennsylvania law across the Commonwealth.<\/p>\n
