The New Braunfels Public Library\u2019s 2026 Summer Reading Program kicks off on Saturday, June 6th, 2026, launching a summer\u2019s worth of reading fun and activities. This year\u2019s theme is \u201cUnearth a Story\u201d which encourages readers of all ages to explore new ideas, discover great books, and enjoy a season of learning and creativity.<\/p>\n
\u00a0This year\u2019s Summer Reading Program begins with a fun-filled kickoff event at the Main Branch Library on Common Street on Saturday, June 6th, from 10am to 1pm. The kickoff party will include storytime with NBPD police officers and NBFD firefighters, an outdoor foam party, live music from Staci Gray, and much more!<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u201cThe New Braunfels Public Library System has an amazing lineup of programs for the community this summer,\u201d said Library Director Cole Johnson. \u201cBe on the lookout throughout the summer for a variety of events for kids and adults alike. Programs this year includes wildlife shows, sensory playtimes, movie parties, swordplay exhibitions, science demonstrations, and specialty story times. It\u2019s easy for the whole family to participate together and get reading this summer. Just pick up a game card to get started!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0Each time you complete an activity from the list, mark it on the game card, and after you complete five activities, come to the library to pick up your first prize. Prize pickup starts June 15. After you complete 10 activities, you can pick up your second prize, and when you’ve completed the game card (a total of 24 activities) you will receive an entry for our grand prize drawing. Grand prize entries are accepted through Friday, August 8th.<\/p>\n
