U. MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. \u2013 The nation\u2019s largest franchise system of retail shipping, postal, print and business service centers is expanding its footprint in Lehigh County.<\/p>\n

A new location of The UPS Store is expected to open in early or mid-fall at 7751 Glenlivet Drive West Suite 106 in the Fogelsville section of Upper Macungie Township, a company spokesperson told 69 News.<\/p>\n

The space previously housed a jewelry store, Robert\u2019s Jewelers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

More than 5,500 locations of The UPS Store operate nationwide and are independently owned and operated by licensed franchisees of The UPS Store, Inc., an indirect subsidiary of United Parcel Service, Inc., a Delaware corporation, although one or more may be company owned.<\/p>\n

In the Lehigh Valley, other locations of The UPS Store operate on Hamilton Boulevard in Lower Macungie Township, Easton Nazareth Highway in Lower Nazareth Township, Leithsville Road in Lower Saucon Township, Lehigh Street in Salisbury Township, MacArthur Road in Whitehall Township and Catasauqua Road in Hanover Township, Lehigh County.<\/p>\n

Locations can pack and ship a wide array of items, including antiques, electronics, furniture and sports equipment, among other pieces.<\/p>\n

In addition to domestic and international shipping, other services include business and personal mailboxes, faxing, shredding, computer access, notary services, design services, passport and ID photos, office and mailing supplies and printing services such as banners, brochures, flyers, menus, door hangers and greeting cards.<\/p>\n

Small business services such as accounting and bookkeeping, communications, direct mail services and financials services are also available.<\/p>\n

Services, prices and hours of operation are subject to change and may vary by location.<\/p>\n

The UPS Store concept was introduced in 1980 as Mail Boxes Etc. – a \u201cconvenient alternative to the post office,\u201d according to a historical account.<\/p>\n

In 2001, UPS acquired Mail Boxes Etc., Inc., and in 2003, the two companies introduced The UPS Store brand with approximately 3,000 Mail Boxes Etc. locations nationwide (at the time, nearly 90% of the domestic U.S. network) being re-branded as The UPS Store.<\/p>\n

In 2012, Mail Boxes Etc., Inc. officially became The UPS Store, Inc.<\/p>\n
